Guatemala Update #3

Hey everyone,
This is Jessica (in case you haven't realized, I'm always the one who blogs on this, haha)
Just wanted to give another little update. My sickness has both improved and gotten worse.
My horrible fever is now down so that's a praise report, along with my body aches decreasing.
I do however, have what missionaries like to refer to as "the big D" aka: diarrhea. Gross I know, but just being real with you. haha. It's horrible. I can't go out and do anything because I have to be near a toilet at all times...ugh! I'm praying this passes quickly. PLEASE agree with me! I think I accidentally got some of the water in my mouth when I was showering (I like to sing, okay?!). Big bummer. So yeah, Chris is currently gone doing some construction work and I am laying low here at the house. It's hard not to get discouraged but I'm pressing through and just spending time with the Lord. Thankfully, the missionary family has good medicine that I'm taking so that's a blessing!
Last night the power went off while Chris was brushing his teeth and he still needed to take his contacts out....have you ever tried doing that in the dark? Didn't think so. haha it's HARD. Oh the adventures of a missionary! lol We had some good laughs about it though. Thankfully, the power came back on around 10 this morning but it's so unpredictable and can go out for a week at a time.
That's all I have for now, please pray for my COMPLETE healing!!!
Love,
The Gunns

  2. I hope your feelings better soon! I'll be praying for your total healing. I was reading in your second update about churches constantly moving on to the next big thing.. its so true I think it's true in general as americans cause theres always "stuff" at our finger tips. We even look over having the lights on. Or having running water. Clean water period. Most people at some point or another are so negative about they're lives. I absolutly believe God wants us to prosper and have abundunce so we can pour back into his kingdom. BUT when we lose site of being thankful for just having a bed to sleep in and a roof over our heads.. we become so ungrateful. I think it's amazing that you guys are there doing what Gods called you to do and being fire starters and seed throwers! Blessings!!

  3. hey girl. i hope you start feeling better soon! don't be discouraged! as i was reading your blog i thought about a revival i heard of once. This particular revival was contributed to the prayers of a few faithful women who met to pray during every service held at this particular church. I just want you to remind you of what you already know, that even though you feel like your not doing all that you can because of your health. I want you to know this is a lie girl! You are accomplishing leaps and bounds in the Spirit while you're at home sick! You're being a faithful wife, covering your husband in prayer while he's out there in the field. I hope you're encouraged, that even if you are sick another day, it's a part of God's plan. He has a mighty plan, and it won't be hindered by anything! Jeff and I had Papa John's on Wednesday night, it made me think of you and Chris. You guys are on my mind! love you both so much! So proud of the work that you're doing. Remember, if all you do is go there to pray, you are accomplishing great things!!!
Don;t let the enemy discourage you in any way!!! love you!!!
    Tara
